Franchisee Dr. Tracy Banks said she and her husband, Bruce Lewis, decided to open Right at Home Prosper after seeing how in-home care benefited her great-aunt at the end of her life.

“My great-aunt Marcy came to me after Hurricane Katrina,” says Dr. Banks. “She was 88 years old and lived with me for eight years. As a busy obstetrician-gynecologist, I couldn’t have done it without the help of a caregiver. I know how invaluable their help is. And it allowed her to be with me in my home. She accompanied my children to their activities while they were growing up. It was wonderful to have several generations in the home and to hear her stories. I think her final years were very fulfilling.”

Through its network of caregivers, Right at Home Prosper provides assistance to seniors and people with disabilities with everyday tasks such as dressing, toileting, walking, transferring, cooking and cleaning. They also provide care for veterans and those with special needs such as those with dementia.

The organization helps seniors continue to live in the homes they already feel comfortable in by directly providing the services they need, which can have a positive impact on an individual’s quality of life.

“We see very high rates of depression in nursing homes because older people often feel lonely and isolated,” Dr Banks said. “There are studies showing that our mental state plays a huge role in how long we live and how we age. We can either resist it or persevere and embrace it. I think living in your own home or the home of a loved one can help you embrace ageing in a wonderful and beneficial way because it allows you to stay connected and engaged.”

Right at Home Prosper provides personalized care based on each client’s needs. Caregivers can visit their home for a few hours, overnight, or 24/7. After an initial phone conversation to understand the client’s needs, Right at Home Prosper creates a personalized care plan, followed by an in-home assessment. From there, they match their client with the right caregiver.

Dr Banks said Right at Home Prosper has a rigorous screening process and all carers undergo criminal background checks and are insured and bonded.

“We hand-select our caregivers because it’s a matter of trust,” Dr. Banks said. “They’re people coming into your home, so you want to trust them. It’s no exaggeration to say that our caregivers really do become part of our clients’ families.”

Thanks to this incredible team of caregivers, Right at Home Prosper has received numerous awards, including Best of Home Care Leader in Experience, Provider of Choice, Employer of Choice, Leader in Training and Top 100 in Experience Awards for 2024.

“Among 3,400 home care agencies in North America that participated in the 2024 Home Care Pulse Survey, we were ranked 26th!” said Dr. Banks. “We are very proud of that and it is a testament to our amazing staff and the services we provide.” Right at Home Prosper serves the Greater Far North Texas area from Prosper to Denison.
