RICOH 3D for Healthcare partners with Insight Surgery

Ricoh USA, a provider of integrated digital services, printing and imaging solutions, and Insight Surgery, a UK-based medical technology manufacturer, are to bring to market patient-specific surgical guides for pediatric and adult orthopedic and maxillofacial surgery. We have partnered with. The partnership between RICOH 3D for Healthcare, a leader in 3D printing solutions for the healthcare industry, and Insight Surgery aims to revolutionize the standard of care in orthopedics, orthopedic oncology, and maxillofacial surgery.

Through this partnership, RICOH 3D for Healthcare is tailored for a variety of orthopedic applications, including pediatric and adult osteotomies, pelvic surgery, upper and lower extremity deformity correction, orthopedic oncology, and procurement and shaping. Insight Surgery's innovative surgical guide is now available for distribution. of allografts. This guide is also used for oral and maxillofacial surgeries such as orthognathic surgery and facial reconstructive surgery. Each guide is individually designed to deliver a bespoke virtual surgical plan to the patient.

Insight Surgery's personalized surgical guides are created by a team of biomedical engineers and can be delivered with incredible speed, within 10 business days for expedited service and 10-20 business days for standard service. This rapid response, combined with Insight Surgery's proprietary platform, EmbedMed, enables seamless integration of digital surgical planning and guide creation. A state-of-the-art software solution, the EmbedMed platform facilitates the secure transfer of patient imaging data, supports the design process, and ensures precise manufacturing of surgical guides in an ISO 13485-certified, FDA-registered facility.

Surgical guides such as those offered through this partnership are proven to reduce surgical time, improve accuracy and minimize complications, representing a significant advance over traditional methods. Integrating these guides into the RICOH 3D for Healthcare portfolio is consistent with Ricoh's mission to deliver new solutions that support enhanced surgical planning, medical training, patient education, and hospital-based innovation.

This process includes secure DICOM acquisition, digital segmentation, preoperative planning, and design review by Insight Surgery engineers, followed by manufacturing and delivery of the sterilizable guide.
