A new private health tracking system using artificial intelligence is launched by 2026 with the goal of improving health data sharing across the US healthcare system. The initiative is led by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, sharing patient permissions and personal health data and electronic medical records across multiple platforms, making health records more accessible to patients, providers and APP platforms. This accessibility helps providers manage both complex and mainstream health conditions, and helps to provide cohesive and efficient treatment coordination.
To date, over 60 companies and 11 health systems have participated in the CMS initiative. Large technology companies are also committed to working with health systems and CMS to streamline access to medical records and data.
