SAN ANTONIO – For nearly 100 volunteers, the choice to help brighten the holidays for some San Antonio children was a big decision.
These volunteers spent Friday wrapping gifts for children and teens living at the Roy Mars Youth Alternative residential care facility.
This can be a difficult time for children, as they come from families who may have experienced neglect or abuse.
Thanks to the help of Roy Mars staff, volunteers, and community partners, this holiday feels like a vacation for kids.
“While a gift can never replace a loving family, we do everything we can to bring joy to children,” said Julie Healy, chief development officer at Roy Mars Youth Alternatives. “I will.” “And our community helps us do that.”
Volunteers wrapped a total of 500 gifts. This gift will go to children in Roy Mars Youth Alternative residential care facilities.
