Honors College hosts Valentine's Day donation drives and volunteer events, supporting the Oaks at a nursing home at Radford Hills, a local facility around the corner.
The drive started last week, but there is still plenty of time to attend. You can donate fazzy socks, nail polish, manicure, large print word games, puzzles, or other thoughtful contributions that will help brighten up your residents' Valentine's Day.
“We've been working hard to get into the world,” said Lily Wilson, a junior marketing major in Carrollton, Texas.
There will be a volunteer event held on Sunday, February 16th at 2:30pm.
The donation drive will end on the weekend. Students are also encouraged to participate in a hands-on service by participating in volunteer events on Sundays at 2:30pm.
The Oaks in Radford Hills were chosen for opportunities to be close to the ACU and directly engaged with residents.
For each of the three items donated, the honor student will receive an hourly credit. Honorary students must complete 10 hours of public service prior to graduation. This donation drive and volunteer event offers a great opportunity to get service time without waiting until later in life.
