Arlington, Texas – Three people were taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at a senior living facility in Arlington.
The fire broke out late this morning at Arlington Plaza Sky Active Living.
Firefighters said the fire started on a balcony and caused heavy smoke to fill the building.
Some residents needed help evacuating, so the fire department declared it a Level 3 alert fire and sent additional firefighters to the scene.
“We have 86 people here, pedestrians, people on scooters, we needed personnel to evacuate them because the building was filling with smoke,” said Lt. Adam Evans with the Arlington Fire Department.
Firefighters said no one was seriously injured.
Investigators believe the fire was accidental, but the exact cause is unknown at this time.
