STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Those looking for a new career may want to consider the jobs expected to be most in demand in the coming years.

The U.S. economy is expected to add nearly 6.8 million jobs over the next decade, from 2023 to 2033, according to projections from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Much of the job growth will be driven by the healthcare industry, as the country's rapidly aging population requires more sophisticated healthcare.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, from 2010 to 2020, the number of Americans 65 and older increased by a staggering 38.6%, from approximately 40.3 million in 2010 to 55.8 million in 2020.

Home health and personal care aides are expected to have the highest levels of job growth, with an additional 820,500 jobs predicted to be created over the next 10 years, as more and more seniors are cared for. are.

Other occupations expected to see significant growth in the healthcare industry include registered nurses, medical and health services managers, and registered nurses, all of which are expected to create more than 100,000 new jobs. are.
