“We are proud to be part of Hartford Healthcare to celebrate the opening of the new Fairfield Cancer Center, a state-of-the-art facility that expands access to advanced, personalized cancer care in Connecticut.” “Through our MSK Care Partners, patients at Fairfield Cancer Center and St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport will receive subspecialty care guided by MSK's world-renowned standards. Our work with Hartford Healthcare represents a common commitment to improving cancer outcomes by bringing world-class expertise directly to the community in which our patients live.”
Hartford Healthcare's Fairfield Cancer Center is a care partner at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK Care Partner). This means that Hartford Healthcare doctors at this location have the opportunity to access MSK's expertise and interact with MSK doctors in several ways. Physicians have the opportunity to consult with highly specialized MSK specialists about the optimal treatment plan for their patients. Some doctors also observe that MSK doctors are implementing new techniques and better equip them to provide the best standard of care in their own practices.
It is based on a groundbreaking decade-long collaboration in which Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute became the first member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance, the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute at St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport, and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance, the first MSK care partner at Hartford Healthcare's Fairfield Cancer Center.
The healthcare organizations that become MSK Care Partners will work with MSK to ensure patients in a community environment receive specialized, high-quality cancer care. These partnerships will help MSK Standards of Care™ to promote integration into local oncology practices through knowledge sharing, increased access to clinical trials, enhanced educational opportunities, and collaboration with leading cancer experts. By committing to continuous improvement based on the MSK Standards of Care™, these organizations undergo regular quality reviews and adopt the latest and most effective cancer care approach based on scientific evidence.
