Police say the teenager at Dade County Juvenile Assessment Center confessed he was upset after being suspended from school and unable to play sports.
On February 28, the teenager walked to the Treasure Isle Care Centre, the nursing home of Dr. 1735 N. Treasure, where he burned three cars.
The teen walked to the house along Rebellion Avenue near South Street Drive, broke down and caused several fires inside. The flames have been destroyed.
North Bay Village police officers and Miami-Dade deputies investigated the incident. Surveillance video helped track teens down to nearby skyscrapers.
The detective asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
