SIKSON, Mo. (KFVS) — Dozens of residents at Sheekston's nursing and rehabilitation facility are safe and in a new environment after a severe storm hit her home on Friday night and Saturday morning, March 15th.

All 54 residents were transferred to other nursing facilities in the area after being damaged by the facility's massive storm, according to Dalton Bean, finance director for Delta South Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Bean said the Sheekston facility had primarily roof and water damage, but the storm removed the HVAC unit and blew out some windows.

No injuries have been reported.

Approximately 70 staff worked in the facility and were sent home.

Bean says there are no estimates for damages at this time, but management is meeting with insurance agents to develop reconstruction and recovery plans.
