On Wednesday, Pennant Group (NASDAQ: PNTG) announced that it had acquired outpatient therapy for Healing Hearts Home Health and Healing Hearts.
Healing Hearts offers home health, non-medical home care and outpatient therapy services, serving seven Wyoming communities.
The transaction was completed on Monday. Both home healthcare and outpatient therapy operations will serve the communities of Gillette and Moorecroft, Wyoming, and continue to operate under their own brand.
“Healthcare should see people where they are,” Pennant CEO Brent Gerrisorli said in a statement. “By expanding our home health and outpatient therapy network, we can serve more Wyoming residents with the same kind of caring and personalized care our community can trust.”
Based in Eagle, Idaho, Pennant is the parent company of independently operated home health, hospice and senior living companies, including more than 120 home hygiene agencies. Works in 14 states.
According to Wayback Machine, Healing Hearts Home Health was previously owned by a group of healthcare professionals.
The deal comes as some home health providers are cutting acquisitions as Medicare home health rates were reduced in 2026. New Day Healthcare, for example, is slowing down the pace of home health transactions while not boosting acquisitions in other industries.
However, Pennant has been actively working on the acquisitions. In July, Pennant acquired Gran Care Health Services in Southern California. The company will also acquire between 38 and 50 home hygiene and hospice institutions sold by Amedisys and UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) following the merger.
Gerisori said in May that the company will “continue to evaluate a strong pipeline in both segments” beyond the UnitedHealth and Amedisys deal. The Healing Hearts deal shows that the company is acting on its commitment.
“Our local sales model has proven unique to the challenges facing Intermountain West providers,” said John Gotchner, president and chief operating officer of Pennant. “This acquisition will strengthen our ability to invest in people and programs that improve care delivery across eastern Wyoming.”
