Myrtle Beach, SC (WBTV) – A nurse is said to have stole painkillers from a patient at a nursing home in South Carolina.

Nurses, 34-year-old Erin Homan, was working at the Angel Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Myrtle Beach when two patients accused her of taking tramadol in October 2024.

South Carolina officials began an investigation and said Homan took the medication for her own personal use and “treated two vulnerable adult residents of the prescribed medication.”

A warrant obtained by the sister state WMBF stated that Homan also took oxycodone/acetaminophen from the patient.

Authorities said the nursing home had fully cooperated with the investigation.

Homan was charged with two thefts, including two exploitation of a vulnerable adult and two thefts, including theft of a controlled substance. She was booked at the Holly County Jail on Tuesday, March 18th, and released from prison the following day after posting a $4,000 bond.

The South Carolina Attorney General's Office had charged the case.
