A man has been charged with the murder of a retired nurse from the Midlands.
Christina Alexander, 60, was found dead at a property in Dosthill, Staffordshire, on Monday (23 June).
Officers from Warwickshire Police were called to the scene on Ascot Drive in the early hours of Monday morning.
The force has now released a statement confirming that Ms Alexander’s death is being treated as a murder.
Robert Alexander, 65, of Ascot Drive, Dosthill, was charged with Ms Alexander’s murder in the days after her death.
Nursing Times understands that he was due to appear at Coventry Magistrates Court on Thursday, 26 June, for his first hearing since he was arrested.
A statement from Ms Alexander’s younger siblings paid tribute to the former nurse.
They said: “Tina was kind, caring, bubbly, with a great sense of humour.
“She was looking forward to enjoying the rest of her life after retiring as a nurse, a profession that she was immensely proud of.
“We love you big sis, you’re always in our hearts. God bless.”
