HIMSS 2025 has arrived. We are pleased to announce the release of Microsoft Dragon Copilot. This is a new groundbreaking solution that changes the way clinicians work. Please join Booth #2221. Experience the latest innovation action, hands-on demonstrations, take part in the theatre experience and meet product experts. You won't be disappointed.

For over 20 years, clinicians have recorded billions of patient records and consistently provide front-end voice capabilities, which are the basis for clinical documentation. Five years ago, we made a huge leap by exploring the ambient AI category in healthcare. Today we are announcing the integration of fine-tuned generation AI, healthcare adaptation safeguards, and new capabilities on a scalable platform for these proven technologies. This powerful combination brings an unprecedented level of efficiency and care, bringing a wide range of benefits to everyone.

Our robust voice solutions have consistently produced results for clinicians, patients and healthcare providers. Average 13 additional booking slots per month, resulting in an average of 5 minutes of time savings per encounter.

Based on this evolution, Dragon Copilot streamlines automating tasks across documents, surface information, and care settings. It is an AI-extensible workspace that provides a unified experience, integrates with electronic health records (EHRs) such as epics, and supports clinicians at every stage of the workflow. Part of Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare is built on a safe, modern architecture that can bring clinical productivity to new heights, boost clinician health and patient experience, increase efficiency and improve financial impact.

Streamline your documents with a new level of customization

Dragon Copilot uses modern AI models to efficiently and consistently create accurate documents.

Automatically create clinical documents. Capture multi-party multi-word patient clinician conversations during the visit, make surrounding orders during the visit, and translate them into high-quality, comprehensive, specially specific notes that allow clinicians to connect with patients rather than screens. Is there an internet? No problem: Recordings are captured and processed when the user is reconnected. Create high quality, customizable documents: allow clinicians to customize documents, save templates, save AI prompts, and frequently used text. Speak naturally: Provides natural language audio capabilities, cursor dictation, custom vocabulary, and intuitive voice correction capabilities across the device.

Surface information without leaving the workflow

From querying notes and getting medical information to receiving recording suggestions, Dragon Copilot has access to relevant information whenever you need it.

Query notes: Provides details and answer questions such as whether the patient is taking a particular medication, whether he has an associated family history, or whether he mentions something specific during a conversation. Copilot uses conversation transcripts and notes to deal with requests. Get trustworthy health information: Clinicians have access to a wide range of medical information and clinical topics, allowing them to check for up-to-date protocols to manage their condition, for example, and for drug interactions. Dragon Copilot uses AI grounded in quotes to ensure confidence in its answer. Receive suggestions: Create a more complete note. Dragon Copilot analyzes transcripts and suggests that clinicians can capture specific information such as temperature, BMI, and family history. Make effective use of conversation data: Get insights at scale with Microsoft Fabric and Dragon Copilot. Use point-of-care data to better analyze usage and recruitment, improving research, patient care, engagement, outreach and more.

“Using all these tools together will be a great indoor office assistant to take care of patients. That's just amazing.”

Dr. Lance Owens, Chief Medical Information Officer at the University of Michigan Health West

Automate tasks in one click

Dragon Copilot helps clinicians automate clinical and non-clinical tasks. From summarizing notes and evidence to preparing your order and drafting a referral letter, save time and increase clinician productivity and efficiency after a summary of your visit.

Make ordering easier: Automatically capture dozens of order types during clinician conversations. With a supported EHRS, orders are entered directly into the EHR order module. Summary Note: Get an instant overview of each encounter, including important facts and details, streamline workflows, and reduce cognitive load. Dragon Copilot allows you to easily review your patients before completing your notes. Summary evidence: You receive more than a linked note to the transcript. Dragon Copilot curates diagnostic evidence from subjective factors such as symptoms, objective factors such as labs and imaging, and other relevant information shared during the encounter. Creating a referral character: Quickly draft referral characters from clinical notes in Dragon Copilot using information collected during the encounter. Automatically extract important details including medical history, requested services, and related test or imaging results and reuse them in letters. Generate a post-visit summary: Dragon Copilot converts clinical documents from encounter visits to patient-friendly post-visit summary written to provide key clinical highlights and brief references to important directions.

“It's a complete transformation. It helps make it easier, more efficient and better care for patients.”

Dr. Anthony Mazzarelli, Co-President and CEO of Cooper University Healthcare
