The MHA successfully published several news stories in the week of April 28th related to federal Medicaid's potential funding cuts.
The Lansing State Journal has announced the OP-ED from MHA CEO Brian Peters. Brian Peters was shared as part of his participation in MHA's Protect Mi Care Coalition, which urges Congress members to protect Medicaid. OP-ED has expressed the importance of Medicaid to the state's health care system and the outcomes to access all Michigan care if significant funding cuts are implemented.
“The impact will ripple far beyond those who rely on Medicaid. Every hospital, mental health clinic, nursing home that relies on Medicaid funds will feel the impact,” Peters said. “When the facility approaches, it's not just Medicaid patients who lost, regardless of what insurance they have, it's everyone in the community.”
Laura Appel, executive vice president of MHA, also sat down with Wilx News 10 on April 30 to discuss potential funding cuts.
