It's open entry season. Even if you weren't previously eligible for financial assistance, now is the time to get health insurance for 2025.
LGBTQI+ people have long faced challenges accessing health insurance and necessary medical services. For some, this includes HIV testing, PrEP for HIV prevention, or antiretroviral therapy (ART) for people living with HIV. Without health insurance, people are more likely to postpone or forgo needed medical care and less likely to receive preventive services than people with insurance.
But thanks to the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), more people, including individuals in the LGBTQI+ community, are now eligible for assistance paying for quality health care through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Even if you didn't qualify for financial assistance in the past, now is the time to get health insurance for 2025.
