Bakersfield, California (KBAK/KBFX) – More than 100 people gathered at CSUB on Saturday morning, with US representatives David Valadao and Vince Fong continuing to protest against cutting Medicaid.

Many demonstrated it with chants and descriptive posters expressing their dissatisfaction with the Trump administration's plans for health care in California.

One of the speakers, CSUB student Marcilla Diaz, took part in the “Hands-Off” protest to show solidarity with the ongoing issues.

“It was nice to know that I wasn't alone, especially as a native,” Diaz said. “We already feel like a minority and don't feel as expressive as we should be here. It's really good to see them share the same support as me, indicating that we need to continue working together and unite in this way, even when we're educated.

The protest headed from the CSUB campus to Vince Fong's office. Saturday's rally was one of many rallyings held across the country.
