IAM Union International President Brian Bryant has appointed Ivy Gaillekar as a special representative of the IAM Healthcare division under Vice President Jody Bennett, an IAM resident. The appointment will come into effect on September 1, 2025.
Geilker has won multiple, fierce fighting organizational campaigns since starting Iam Healthcare as an associate organizer. These new members of the Pharmacy Guild/IAM are pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff from multiple Fortune 500 companies, including CVS, Walgreens and Safeway Pharmacy.
Before joining IAM Healthcare Staff in February 2024, Geilker served as Senior Lead Organizer for the Colorado Employee Union and led a team of field staff responsible for representing workers in a wide range of settings, including state hospitals, the Colorado Department of Public Health and university campuses.
“Ivy's success in organizing pharmacists and technicians in large corporations has contributed to IAM's impressive growth in the healthcare industry,” said Vice President Jodie Bennett, IAM resident. “Her tireless work in building a pharmacy guild/yam gave a voice to the hardworking professionals providing care to our families and communities.”
In her new role as a special representative, Gaillekar is responsible for negotiating contracts for pharmacy professionals who provide care to thousands of patients. She will also serve new negotiating units and continue to run new organizing campaigns.
