Health systems face numerous challenges, including workforce shortages, rising costs, and increased demands for patient care. Clinical staff in healthcare organizations are overburdened with workloads, resulting in high levels of stress and long working hours, healthcare worker burnout, and high turnover and staffing shortages. Generative AI offers a potential solution to these challenges by automating administrative tasks, analyzing vast amounts of data for actionable insights, and assisting healthcare professionals in decision-making. I will.
Healthcare Agent Service in Microsoft Copilot Studio
Revolutionize healthcare with generative AI solutions.
To address this, Microsoft is announcing the public preview of the Healthcare Agent service in Microsoft Copilot Studio. Copilot Studio serves as a single platform for building powerful, connected agents, providing a comprehensive suite of tools and features. With the addition of the Healthcare Agent service, users can now create more secure healthcare agents using generative AI and a healthcare-specific stack. The service allows customers to build their own agents with reusable healthcare-specific functionality, pre-built healthcare intelligence from trusted sources, templates, and pre-built healthcare use cases. Masu. We ensure these agents address healthcare safety by meeting industry standards and providing cutting-edge healthcare-specific chat, clinical, and compliance protections.
Healthcare Agent Services allows healthcare organizations to develop their own AI-powered generative agents for patients and clinicians, supporting a variety of use cases ranging from appointment scheduling, clinical trial matching, patient triage, and more can. The service also supports extending your organization's agents with additional plugins, regardless of where the plugins were built.
Strengthening our commitment to responsible AI safeguards
Healthcare is a truly unique industry. This is a sensitive area that affects people's health and well-being. When it comes to generative AI, addressing issues such as fabrications, omissions, and inaccurate answers becomes more important and needs to be addressed in a way specific to the needs of the healthcare industry.
To address these concerns, we are offering the Clinical Safeguards API in private preview to select customers for use in evaluating and further validating the AI outputs they generate. The following safety measures will be available as part of this private preview:
Detection of clinical fabrications and omissions. It will help you detect them in the generated answers by comparing them with the grounded data. Clinical anchoring. Provide clinical context and conceptual identification to clinical elements within prompts, making them more salient to AI systems. Clinical history. Helps identify the source of the claim against the underlying data. Validation of clinical coding. Validate that the clinical code provided by generative AI actually exists and is relevant to the context. Clinical semantic validation. Helps verify that responses conform to known valid clinical semantic structures.
Revolutionizing healthcare with generative AI
Two prominent healthcare organizations have recently been at the forefront of integrating advanced AI technology into their services: Cleveland Clinic and Galilee Medical Center. Our collaboration with Microsoft has led to significant advances in patient care and access to information.
Cleveland Clinic participated in a private preview of Microsoft Copilot Studio's Medical Agent service.
“We are constantly looking for innovative ways to improve the patient experience and provide seamless access to relevant information. By leveraging AI technology, we are reinventing the way our patients interact with us. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Microsoft on this project. Our goal is to make it easy for patients to find the information they need, ask their health-related questions, and use our services. to help develop AI-powered tools that make it accessible.”

Galilee Medical Center also employs advanced AI solutions to simplify complex patient medical data and is an early adopter using the Clinical Safeguards API.
“We collaborated with Microsoft to develop patient-friendly radiology reports powered by (Microsoft) Azure OpenAI (Services), allowing patients to access complex radiology data in simple, easy-to-understand language. In addition to receiving a simplified report, you can also ask follow-up questions. You can query for specific findings and track how each element relates to the original radiology report. We leveraged Clinical Provenance Safeguard, part of the Clinical Safeguards API, to ensure traceability and provide clear evidence of where each simplified information came from within the original medical report.”
