In addition to providing support to caregivers, Home Nurse Inc also offers guidance for those who are unsure about eligibility and the type of support available to them. The goal of this latest service is to help more unpaid caregivers understand and access the Structured Family Caregiver program.

“The Structured Family Caregiving Program provides financial assistance and support services to Georgia families who care for elderly or disabled people in their homes,” explains Home Nurse founder Gail Finley. “This support includes education, planning and personal care assistance. We provide qualified, experienced staff as part of our support.”

As part of its updated services, Home Nurse Inc can guide individuals through the eligibility requirements for the SFC program, including being the primary caregiver, being related by blood or marriage but not a spouse or legal guardian, and living with the person needing care. The program also requires that the care recipient be eligible for or already receiving Medicaid.

Specialist support services now on offer include experienced nursing coaches who help carers understand their loved one’s condition and how to best manage it, and Home Nurse Inc explains that this goes beyond simple coaching and can act as a vital emotional support network.

While the core of the enhanced services is a structured family caregiver program, Home Nurse Inc. notes that additional support is available for those who do not qualify, including meal delivery, recreational activities for seniors, emergency response services, home modifications and personal care assistance. The company can also help clients understand and access these services.

“Our organization was founded in 1983, and our goal is still the same today as it was more than 40 years ago: to help people live healthier, more independent lives,” continues Gail Finley. “The Structured Family Caregiving Program is one of several positive improvements we’ve seen in recent years, and we want to do all we can to help individuals benefit.”
