Blize Healthcare, which provides home health care services, has filed for bankruptcy.
The Hercules, Calif.-based company filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California, according to court documents. This case is a Chapter 11 petition by a voluntary non-individual against a medical company.
Blize Healthcare provides home health care, hospice care, and private home health services. Two stakeholders, Blessing Elendu and Ukeje Elendu, each own 50% of the company. Ukeje Elendu is the CEO of Blize Healthcare.
“Most seniors want to stay at home for as long as possible. Blize Healthcare services make that possible by providing palliative care, hospice and home care to those where they live,” Blize said on its website.
Estimated assets range from $101,001 to $500,000, and debts range from $1 million to $10 million, according to court documents. The company cited financial difficulties and the need for reorganization as reasons for filing for Chapter 11.
Creditors include the California Department of Health Services, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and Itria Ventures.
Mr. Briz will continue to provide patient care as the case progresses.
