The contract deadline was Tuesday. If they had not reached it, the HHC facilities, hospitals and doctors would have lost their networks.

HHC spokesman Tina Varona said HEARTFORD, Connecticut — UnitedHealthcare and Hartford Healthcare (HHC) have reached a contract settlement.

The agreement was set to expire on Tuesday, leading to HHC hospitals, doctors and facilities being decommissioned.

“Hartford Healthcare and UnitedHealthcare have reached an agreement to ensure that HHC Healthcare physicians, hospitals and services continue to retain uninterrupted access,” the HHC statement said. “This is good news for patients and the community and allows us to continue our mission to improve all our health and healing.”

On Sunday, HHC said on its FAQ page it was looking for “fair level payments” to serve UnitedHealthcare Insurance members.

“United offers hospital and physician fees that simply don’t cover rising costs, including pay and benefits, medical supplies, drugs and vendor services.

UnitedHealthcare said on Sunday their goal in the negotiations is to “become an affordable long-term contract while avoiding confusion with members. We are committed to using the rest of our contract to engage in ongoing good faith negotiations with the goal of renewing the relationship.”

The terms of the contract settlement are currently unknown.
