On Veterans Day, I'm proud to announce the release of my latest book, Smarter Healthcare with AI: Harnessing Military Medicine to Revolutionize Healthcare forEveryone, Everywhere, published by Forbes Books this week. This book chronicles his extraordinary journey at the forefront of the AI movement, driving innovative enterprise AI solutions to improve healthcare for warfighters and communities around the world.
On this special day, I reflected on my 25 years of military service with gratitude. This period defined my commitment to medical innovation and serving those who have sacrificed so much. Thank you to all our veterans for your service, courage, and dedication. This book is, in a sense, for you.
We didn't plan it this way. I didn't intend for my new book, my first to be published by Forbes Books, to coincide with the Veterans Day celebration. But as I look back on Veterans Day and the release of this book, I realize that my story depicts my many years of experience in the U.S. Navy, from the decks of aircraft carriers and tents at FOBs in Afghanistan to Ebola. I understand. An epidemic on the African continent and above all within the walls of the Department of Defense as part of the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC). So it makes perfect sense for it to be released this week.
Smarter Healthcare with AI focuses on both the potential of AI in medicine and the research I did in the military on AI and healthcare. This has direct correlation and application to the private sector. This book provides a glimpse into the future of AI in healthcare, provides practical guidance on ethics and policy, and helps ensure that the future of AI in healthcare is fair and preserves the digital sovereignty of each individual. Masu.
Many of my fellow veterans have been kind enough to support my book. Dr. Melissa Troncoso, a Navy nurse practitioner and health sciences researcher, said: “This book is for healthcare providers who want to increase capacity and productivity without compromising fair, individualized, and ethical care, and to ensure that all members of the healthcare team Dr. Keith Salzman, a healthcare technology veteran and leader, explains how AI can be used to improve healthcare by balancing the power of AI with essential human values of purpose and compassion. Commenting on the book's mission, my former JAIC colleague and spouse of a veteran, Michelle Padgett, says that the book's vision is “toward a more responsive, resilient, and equitable health care system. It opens the way,” he wrote.
Dr. Drew Plummer, another JAIC colleague and veteran, said the book “outlines a forward-thinking framework for bringing AI into healthcare” and that it “takes readers on a journey into the future of healthcare.” He will go.'' In fact, this initiative aims to democratize access to medical technology and transform healthcare delivery for everyone, everywhere.
Michael Groen, former director of JAIC and retired Lt. Gen. He described it as a “journey of change'' not only for the industry, but also for all the fields that are exploring its use. Leverage AI responsibly and effectively.
Smarter healthcare powered by AI is a call to action. This is a roadmap to a future where health care is accurate, fair, and available to everyone who needs it. We believe that vision resonates with anyone passionate about the potential of AI to improve and humanize healthcare.
Let's honor the contributions of our veterans by exploring a future where healthcare is powered by AI, rooted in human care, and aligned with our values and dedication as veterans. This book is about transforming health care for all the people our veterans fought to protect and beyond.
