The Goffstown Fire Department escorted one of its members from the hospital to the funeral home Saturday night. Capt. William “Bill” Conner died Thursday at age 63, according to the fire department. Conner was escorted from Elliott Hospital to the funeral home in Goffstown Saturday night. Conner is survived by his wife, two children and grandchildren.

Capt. William “Bill” Connor died Thursday at age 63, according to the fire department.
Conner began his career as a firefighter in Goffstown in 1980 and was appointed full-time firefighter and fire inspector in 1997, according to authorities.

“He had such in-depth knowledge of the community that it will be difficult to find someone to replace him,” Chief Sean Murray said.
According to the Goffstown Fire Department, Conner was subsequently promoted to captain and appointed director of the Community Risk Division. He also served as health officer for the town of Goffstown.
Connor was transported from Elliott Hospital to Goffstown Funeral Home on Saturday night.
Connor is survived by his wife, two children and grandchildren.
