ALAMOSA – In August, Evergreen Nursing Home, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, hired Amy Lopez as its new director of nursing.
Lopez comes to the position with several years of experience working in the medical field. She previously worked at Evergreen as a certified nursing assistant, then earned her bachelor's degree in nursing and transitioned to hospital care in labor and delivery. In October 2023, she returned to Evergreen Long Term Care Facility and worked as a floor nurse until she was promoted to Director of Nursing.
“So far, this team has been one of the best teams I've worked with,” Lopez said of his experience at Evergreen. “They all work together and communicate effectively. The residents are all great people, so I love being able to interact with them and provide them with a positive home environment.”
Asked about her job as director, Lopez said she loves caring for the residents and seeing the staff interact and care for them. Her goal for the future is to continue to help the team work together to provide the highest quality of care possible for residents, and she looks forward to the future.
“I am excited to step into this role and help people in our community have another place that feels like home when they need skilled nursing and long-term care,” she said. Ta.
