Authorities have been investigating multiple listeria disease causes since 2018, and recent advances in genome sequencing have confirmed samples from Indiana's Prairie Farm dairy production plants are closely linked to tension, confirming that the FDA is able to establish a definitive link between contaminated products and ongoing listeria cases.

The recall affects 4 oz. Lyons Readycare and Sysco Imperial Frozen Supplize Shakes were sold in a variety of flavors, including vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and strawberry banana.

The recalled shake was manufactured by Prairie Farms Dairy in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and distributed to long-term care facilities across the United States, primarily by Lions Magnus.

The top of the recalled shake carton is marked with many codes and “best dates”. A chart listing all recall products and corresponding lot codes is listed in the official FDA recall notice.

Lyons Magnus notified customers who own the affected Prairie Farms products and took further action to stop purchasing and removed it from further distribution.

The FDA recommends that anyone who still owns affected shakes should immediately stop using them and separate them from other foods. Those with further questions can visit the Lyons Magnus website www.lyonsmagnus.com or email frozenshakerecall@lyonsmagnus.com.
