JACKSON, Tenn. (Sept. 24, 2024) – On September 12, West Tennessee Healthcare lost its President and CEO, James “JR” Ross. JR was a dedicated and beloved leader whose vision and heart for this health care organization touched all who encountered him. He left a tremendous legacy and we will miss him deeply.
At the monthly meeting of the West Tennessee Healthcare Board of Directors, board members reported that JR has prepared a succession plan to ensure continuity in leadership at West Tennessee Healthcare and has discussed that plan with the board.
Consistent with this plan, the Board has appointed Tina Prescott, our Chief Operating Officer, as President and CEO of West Tennessee Healthcare. Tina has been a valued member of our team for 28 years, and her extensive experience, demonstrated leadership abilities and deep understanding of our organization make her an excellent fit for this role. Under Tina’s guidance, we will continue to grow and stay true to the vision, values and leadership example set by JR. The Board wants you to know that this appointment was made with the full support of the WTH leadership team and in accordance with JR’s wishes.
We appreciate your thoughts and prayers for the Ross family and the entire WTH team, and we thank you for your support of our health care system.
