Chris Rock hosted the Dec. 14 episode of “Saturday Night Live,” filling his opening monologue with jokes about multiple topics in the news.
Targets of his mini-stand-up set included a boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, about which he joked, “Who is Jake Paul?” The 27-year-old punched the 60-year-old in the face. Is this what white people have degraded themselves to? Stop it! Who will he fight next, Morgan Freeman? I hate Jake Paul. I felt the landlord's hatred towards him. ”
He also didn't mince words about the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, saying, “I'm really sorry for the family.Everyone's looking at this guy's good looks. No one would care if he looked like Jonah Hill. I had already given him a chair – he would have died. But he actually killed a man – a man with a family, a man with children. This is real. But you also have to say, “Drug dealers get shot sometimes.''
President-elect Trump's promise of an aggressive deportation policy was also skewered by the comedian. “The Menendez brothers are out of prison. It looks like they will be deported in time,” he said. Trump is going to deport them, they are killing Mexicans! ”
He also targeted President Trump's close friend Elon Musk, saying, “He's working with the No. 1 African American in the world. The richest African American in the world: Elon Musk. That's right. . He's African American. Elon has more kids than the Cleveland Browns. No one knows how to exclude people like the South Africans.”
The comedian has hosted the sketch comedy series three times in the past: in 2020, 2014, and 1996. Locke was also a cast member from 1990 to 1993.
