Dr. Deneen Vojita, Blue Shield of California

OAKLAND, Calif. (October 28, 2024) – Deneen Voita, M.D., an experienced physician and nationally recognized leader in medical innovation, has been announced as a member of Blue Shield of California, effective October 28, 2024. Appointed Executive Vice President, Health Solutions.

In this role, Dr. Vojita focuses on improving the quality and affordability of health care for more than 4.8 million members, developing clinical strategies, health transformation initiatives, and healthcare provider initiatives across a broad network of health plans. Leading the partnership with.

Prior to joining Blue Shield, Dr. Vojta served as Chairman of the Arctos Foundation and spent more than 15 years in senior management positions at UnitedHealth Group, including Executive Vice President of Research and Development and Chief Physician Executive at Optum Labs. During her tenure at UnitedHealth, she pioneered innovations in technology-enabled services, care delivery models, and consumer products, all aimed at improving health outcomes and reducing costs. Dr. Vojta also founded MYnetico, a digital health platform that was later acquired by UnitedHealth Group, and has held senior clinical positions at various healthcare organizations.

Dr. Vojita received his medical degree from Temple University and served as a pediatric resident and hematology-oncology fellow at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She serves on the boards of Hikma Pharmaceuticals, Sensei Therapeutics, and Canary Medical.
