Alliance appoints new leaders, Harmonycares expands C-Suite

The National Alliance for Care At Home (Alliance) has announced that it will add two new leadership roles to its advocacy team.

The organization has appointed Hilary Loeffler as vice president of policy and regulatory issues. She came to the Alliance from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), where she served as a senior advisor to the Legislative Bureau.

“After 20 years of moving forward the American healthcare system through direct services at CMS and other legislative and regulatory bodies, I energize the opportunity to join a powerful membership association that I know is high quality care, providing value for both patients and families, and providing value for both the healthcare system,” Loffler said.

Alex Hertzman joined the alliance as the first vice president of research and analysis. He previously led a key analysis of the value of Home Health Patient-Driven Group Model (PDGM) and hospice research. Hertsman served as director of analysis for NORC Healthcare Strategy at the University of Chicago.

“We are honored to be part of the Alliance Team and support the important work of hospice, home health, home care and palliative care providers,” Hertsman said. “There is an increasing number of high-quality data highlighting the value of care at home within the healthcare system. I look forward to filling that gap in order to advance high-quality, high-value care on behalf of the Alliance and its members.”

Hartsman joined the alliance in late April, and Loeffler began on May 19th.

“We are proud to welcome two of the top talents in our community while working from home to the Alliance's advocacy team,” said Scott Levy, the Alliance's Chief Executive Officer. “Hilary's strategic vision and Alex's data-driven insights allow us to lead the home care industry more than ever before to advance public policies that promote quality and expand access to care.”

Home Helper Home Care Name New VPS

Clay McKee and Bobby Kelly have been appointed Vice Presidents of Franchise Development in Home Care for Home Helper. They are accused of leading the company's strategic initiatives to expand its presence nationwide.

“It excites me to be part of a company with a strong mission and great growth potential,” Mackey said in a statement. “Bobby and I are not just focusing on franchise awards, we are also finding innovative ways to explore new opportunities and expand our home helpers.”

CEO Emma Dickinson noted that Mackey and Kelly play a key role in the organization's growth.

“Their natural promotion reflects our mission and the commitment to the continued success of our world-class franchise community,” Dickinson said.

Founded in 1997, Home Helpers Home Care is a nationwide home care franchise that serves seniors and others in over 1,500 communities across 40 states.

HarmonyCares expands its leadership team

HarmonyCares has announced several new leadership appointments to expand its risk-based, home-based primary care delivery model.

Heidi Johnson joined Harmonicales as Chief Human Resources Officer. She brings over 20 years of experience with a key talent team, focusing on the role of HR business partners with an emphasis on talent acquisition and management.

The company has appointed Brooks Newman as the highest law officer. He has over 20 years of experience developing innovative care models for public and private partnerships. Most recently he served as Chief Compliance Director for Medicare and Medicaid Compliance in the publicly published National Health Plan.

Harmonycares also appointed Dan Sanmia as the best actuarial officer. He has over 30 years of actuarial experience specialized in managing the risks of health payers and providers.

Additionally, Shannon Adams, former senior vice president of patient acquisition and experience, has been promoted to Chief Experience Officer. In this new role, Adams is responsible for driving corporate growth through strategic initiatives aimed at improving the experiences of both patients and employees.

“We are growing rapidly and are currently on track to offer our value-based home care model more chronically this year to older people and other Medicare-qualified beneficiaries,” HarmonyCares CEO Matt Chance said in a statement. “Each of these leaders brings deep expertise, a fresh perspective and a common commitment to providing caring, high quality care to those who need it most. Their collective contributions are important to ensure the right people and processes to support sustainable, long-term growth.”

Based in Troy, Michigan, HarmonyCares offers home-based primary care services in 14 states and employs more than 200 primary care providers.

HomeCare Pro adds consulting company CEOs as advisors

HomeCare Pro has appointed Kristen Duell, CEO of Momentum Healthcare & Technology Consulting, as its advisor. Duel helps shape the company's product strategy to reduce management burdens, focusing on growth and care delivery in her new role.

Momentum Healthcare & Technology Consulting in Tampa, Florida helps home-based care institutions and partners to drive sustainable growth by optimizing operations, strengthening marketing strategies and implementing solutions for technology adoption and optimization.

“HomeCare Pro technology is built to remove the management obstacles that home care agencies face every day,” says Duell. “Streamlined compliance, reduced costs and improved workforce management have allowed HomeCare Pro to focus on what is important for home care teams.

Based in Seattle, HomeCare Pro is a home care technology platform that emphasizes caregiver onboarding, credentials and HR compliance.

Frederick Health appoints new CEO

Frederick Health, Maryland's health system, appointed Dr. Cheryl Siophy as new president and CEO on July 1st. Cioffi has mostly been Chief Management Officer at Frederick Health, with nearly 30 years of healthcare leadership experience.

In his role as president and CEO, Cioffi will focus on strengthening patient care, strengthening community partnerships, ensuring financial stability, and promoting innovation and growth. Current president and CEO Tom Kleinhurtzle is scheduled to retire on October 31st.

“Cheryl is a good leader in leading Frederick Health into the future,” Daryl Boffman, vice-chairman and chairman of Frederick's Executive Transition Committee, said in a statement. “(She) has the strategic vision, operational expertise and leadership experience that makes her the ideal choice for this role.”

Frederick Health offers a variety of health care services to residents of Frederick County, Maryland, including those offered through Frederick Health Hospital, Frederick Health Medical Group, Frederick Health Employer Solutions, Frederick Health Home Care, and Frederick Health Hospice.

Northwell Health nominates a new CEO

Michael J. Dowling, who has been president and CEO of Northwell Health for over 23 years, will effectively resign on October 1st. He will move into the CEO Honor role, where he will serve as an advisor.

Dr. John D'Angelo, current vice president of Northwell's Central Region, will replace Dowling. D'Angelo has been involved in the health system for over 25 years and initially served as an emergency medical doctor before moving to system-wide leadership.

“It was an extraordinary privilege to lead Northwell through an era of unprecedented growth and clinical change, which has enabled our team members to make meaningful differences in the lives of tens of millions of patients and families over the past 25 years,” Dowling said in a statement. “We look forward to partnering with Dr. D'Angelo in the coming months to ensure a seamless transition that will become an exciting new chapter in Northwell's 33-year history.”

As the system's central region president, D'Angelo oversees a network that serves 2.8 million residents in western Nassau County and Queens, New York. The network includes six hospitals, over 270 outpatient clinics and a team of 24,000 employees. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Emergency Medical Services, managing a network of 18 emergency departments and more than 60 emergency care centers.

“We are humbled and honored to be selected to replace Michael Dowling as Northwell's president and CEO,” Dangelo said. “I am committed to building on his legacy and vision of transforming Northwell from a Long Island-based health system into a regional and national leader in healthcare.”

Northwell is Northeast's largest nonprofit healthcare system, serving New York and Connecticut residents 28 hospitals, over 1,000 outpatient facilities, 22,000 nurses and more than 20,000 doctors.
