ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) – An animal shelter in Asheville, North Carolina is helping dogs who have gone through emotional and scary situations.
Brother Wolf Animal Rescue welcomed a senior dog named Sugar Plum into their care.
Sugarplum had been home alone for weeks after a tragic death in her family.
“It is our understanding that a medical examination was conducted, during which time her human family members were found deceased,” a Brother Wolf spokesperson said. “Sugar Plum was at home with them for weeks.”
“We cannot fathom the fear, panic and confusion she must have felt for so long,” the shelter said in a Facebook post. “She's waiting for someone to remember her and care about her.”
Sugar Plum arrived at the shelter Wednesday morning and has since been placed in foster care, awaiting adoption.
Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is working to rebuild the shelter that was destroyed by Hurricane Helen.
