September 6, 2024Generative AI (gen AI) has the power to transform the healthcare industry over time, and organizations are starting to take notice. The technology has the potential to significantly improve how patients move through the healthcare ecosystem and streamline operational efficiency in the field as well, according to partner Jessica Lam and her colleagues. Notably, gen AI could have the greatest value in clinician and clinical productivity, according to the majority of respondents in a recent McKinsey survey. Overall expectations suggest that interest in gen AI is expanding beyond clinical applications to enhance other aspects of patient care interactions.
