Addus Homecare Corporation (NASDAQ: ADUS) has named healthcare veteran Heather Dixon as new president and chief operating officer in an announcement Thursday.
Dixon, who recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Behavioral Health Giant Acadia Healthcare (NASDAQ: ACHC), is expected to play her new role in mid-September. She has served as an independent board member and audit committee member of ADDUS since 2023.
“Heather's extensive experience in healthcare leadership, including operations and financial management, has become an outstanding choice to help us lead our company,” Chairman and CEO Dirk Allison said in a statement. “Heather is Adas' valuable independent director and has added both to gain and add insights that he believes can make this new role a successful transition.
Bradley Bickham, now president and COO of Adas, has been appointed CEO Advisor and will remain in that role until his retirement in March 2026.
Prior to joining Acadia, Dixon served as Chief Financial Officer and Interim Chief Operating Officer for Everside Health, a large direct primary care provider. She also served as executive at Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. (NASDAQ: WBA) and CVS Health (NYSE: CVS) company Aetna.
“It's an honor to have Adas join us as president and chief operating officer,” Dixon said. “I praised the company's commitment to providing high quality care to those who need it most. In my time as an independent director, I was able to work closely with the Dark and talented Adas leadership team.
Based in Frisco, Texas, Adas offers include personal care, hospice and home health services. The company operates 260 locations in 23 states and serves approximately 62,000 patients.
Two days before the announcement of Dixon's appointment, Adas announced that it had acquired Help Hands Home Care Services, a Pennsylvania-based home care provider, for $21.2 million.
