Changes in state health facility management

The Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC) in Lander, a facility operated by the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH), has new leadership.

Misty Gibson was appointed WLRC Administrator and began her role in August.

Matt Petrie, senior manager of behavioral health at WDH, said Gibson has years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and advanced behavioral needs.

Mr. Gibson has spent the last several years in leadership roles in community-based services for vulnerable populations, and previously spent more than 10 years in administrative roles at the Beatrice State Development Center in Nebraska.

“We are fortunate to have Misty join our team at this important facility,” said Petrie. “We believe her experience supporting people with developmental disabilities and advanced behavioral needs will be valuable to our mission and goals at Lander.”

Mr. Petrie thanked Mr. James West, who took over as interim WLRC administrator in April. Mr. West has returned to his role as the leader of the WLRC Intermediate Care Facility.

“I cannot say enough about the overall efforts of Lander’s dedicated staff. The care they provide to the vulnerable Wyoming residents we serve there is first-class.” ,” Petrie said.

WLRC, part of the WDH Behavioral Health Division, provides high-level medium to long-term care and services to individuals in Wyoming who are difficult to house, have high medical needs, or have extremely challenging behaviors. Masu.
