Carmen Concepcion joined the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System on May 5, 2025 as Associate Director and Chief Nurse Executive of Patient Care Services.
She previously served as Associate Director and Nurses Executive for Patient Care Services at VA San Diego Healthcare System from August 2016 to May 2025. During this time she also temporarily served as a senior nurse advisor to an aide for health for integrated veteran care.
She previously worked in various positions in the VA Boston Healthcare System, including the Community Living Center/Associate Chief Nurse with Spinal Cord Injury. Chief, sterilization processing service. Nurse manager in the cardiac intensive care unit. Represented nurse manager for medical/surgical telemetry wards.
Concepcion focuses on patient-centric care and has a proven record of consistently delivering results by aligning the department with organizational initiatives.
Concepcion is a member of the Veterans Nurse Agency (NOVA) board of directors and represents the group at both local and national levels. In this capacity, she actively supports NOVA's mission and vision to ensure that veterans receive the highest quality care throughout the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Concepcion received his double master's degree in nursing and health management from the University of Phoenix in 2013 and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Emmanuel University in 2006.
