It took me nearly an hour to control the flames on Friday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville firefighters responded to a fire at a nursing home complex in the Crescent Hill area.

At about 10:45am, the Louisville Fire Station and St. Matthews Fire Station sent their crews to the Louisville campus in Kentucky, the Freemasonry home, off Frankfort Avenue.

Firefighters arrived at the scene within minutes and found heavy smoke from the base of the three-storey brick building. Shortly after its arrival, a second alarm was requested to support firefighting operations.

Once firefighters were able to access the building, they discovered a fully involved attic fire.

The building under renovation was not occupied by the residents at the time. Authorities said all workers evacuated safely without being injured.

The Louisville Fire Station arson squad is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
