Orwigsburg – A 70-year-old resident of Orwigsburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is selling methamphetamine to another resident and is in the Schuylkill County Jail after admitting that the drug was found in his wallet.
An Orwigsburg police officer responded to the 1,000 Manor Drive centre Wednesday after staff found straws and white powdery substances in a buggy under a resident Raymond Versey mattress. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine, police said.
Initially, Versay denied that he knew what it was and how he got it, but he eventually told the centre manager that fellow resident Joseph E. Hunt Sr. sold him the drug for $10, police said.
Police asked Hunt about the drugs, which he denied knowing, but later admitted to selling to Bahne, but Hunt said he didn't accused him of “because he had borrowed money from me,” according to police reports.
Police searched Hunt's room and when he opened his wallet he removed a clear plastic bag with white material that he had told officers he had forgotten there, police said.
Police charged Hunt with a misdemeanor of possession with the intent to manufacture, deliver, or deliver a felony, and possession of the substance if it is not permitted to do so.
Masterial District Judge Andrew Serina arrested him at 10% if he had a $25,000 straight cash bail.
A preliminary hearing is set at 10am on April 15th in Selina's court.
