Warner Robins, a comprehensive academic health system in Atlanta, and Houston Healthcare, a community-based nonprofit health system in Emory Healthcare, Perry, Georgia, today approved Houston's first steps and continuation process This has been announced. Both Emory and the Houston Healthcare Committee have concluded the terms of the decisive agreement specifying details and regulations for Houston Healthcare integration into Emory Healthcare. The health system has also applied for customary regulatory approval. This is a process that takes several months to complete.

In August 2024, the two organizations announced that Houston Healthcare had signed a non-binding intent to participate in Emory Healthcare. Since then, parties have gone through the due diligence stage to investigate potential affiliations. Once this step is finalized and the negotiation of the decisive contract is complete, the organization will work to confirm all necessary regulatory reviews and approvals. The final step is to close transactions that are expected to occur in the coming months.

Houston Healthcare is a community-based health system headquartered in Warner Robins, Georgia.
