In commemoration of Veterans Day 2024, Emory Healthcare Veterans Program (EHVP) honors the extraordinary contributions of those who have served in the U.S. military and reaffirms its commitment to veteran mental health.
EHVP is one of only four academic medical centers in the U.S. supported by the Wounded Warrior Project's Warrior Care Network, providing veteran support to post-9/11 veterans and their families. We provide the highest level of mental health care free of charge, regardless of discharge status. Introduction history and length of service period.
Since its launch in 2015, EHVP has helped people with invisible wounds such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), military sexual trauma, depression, and anxiety. I have been undergoing treatment. EHVP also leads research efforts to advance the understanding and treatment of mental health issues affecting veterans and strives to improve the lives of those who have served our country.
This month, EHVP leaders and Veterans Outreach Coordinators are participating in numerous veteran observation events to actively engage with veterans and the community and raise awareness about available mental health resources. The purpose of these outreach efforts is to educate Veterans about the services provided by EHVP, reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues, and connect Veterans with critical supports and resources. Outreach efforts include:
Friday and Saturday, November 1st and 2nd – 3rd Annual We Care Veterans Fair Friday, November 8th – Atlanta Black Chambers Veterans Mental Health Symposium Saturday, November 9th – Atlanta Veterans Day Parade Veterans Expo Monday, November 11th – Emory University Veterans Day Event Monday, November 11th – “The Future of Leadership” Presentation by Emory Veterans Network and Alumni Association Monday, November 11th – The New Black Wall Street Market Veterans Day November Saturday the 16th – St. Philip AME Church’s 2nd Annual Veterans Symposium
